Naples ignites a passion for sport: the 2026 Sport Kids Festival was a resounding success.

Naples once again proved itself to be a true hub for sport and social inclusion thanks to the third edition of the Sport Kids Festival, part of the program for Naples European Capital of Sport 2026. The historic Piazza Municipio was animated for an entire day by a kaleidoscope of sports and activities dedicated to children, teenagers, and families, transforming it into an open-air sports citadel.

The scenic backdrop of the Maschio Angioino and Mount Vesuvius provided the backdrop for an event that attracted hundreds of participants from across Campania. From basketball to parkour, archery to table tennis, snowboarding, skating, skateboarding, and dance, the festival offered a multi-sport experience designed to promote values ​​of personal growth, social interaction, and physical well-being.

Among the most popular attractions is the area dedicated to Baskin, an inclusive sport that allows people with and without disabilities to share the same playing field, breaking down barriers and promoting equal opportunities. The event is also supported by ASL Napoli 1 Centro, with an information space dedicated to prevention and health promotion.

The day saw the participation of numerous local sports organizations, such as Virtus in the Kids Area for the little ones, the Neapolis Academy for parkour, Arco Puteoli for archery, Snowclubone for snowboarding and balance boarding, Napoli Eagles with subbuteo, and OneSkating School Napoli for skating and skateboarding.

There was also a large space dedicated to dance, coordinated by international choreographer Marco Auggiero of the Mart Dance Academy, who brought world-renowned teachers to Naples for free masterclasses attended by hundreds of young dancers from Campania. Piazza Municipio was thus transformed into an open-air dance hall, animated by passion and talent.

The event was held under the patronage of the Municipality of Naples, Sport and Health, CONI, ASL Napoli 1 Centro, Parthenope University, the Cannavaro Ferrara Foundation, and the Domenico Cirillo Foundation, also involving numerous local associations such as the non-profit organization Teniamoci per Mano.

Naples City Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities, Emanuela Ferrante, emphasized the social value of the event, calling Piazza Municipio a place of encounter and participation where sport becomes a tool for inclusion and dialogue.

Francesca Merenda, regional delegate for Sport and Health, highlighted how the Sport Kids Festival represents a model of inclusion and well-being, guaranteeing all young people the right to participate in sporting activities without economic or social barriers.

The organizers expressed great satisfaction with the results achieved, confirming the event's educational and social goals: promoting active lifestyles, team spirit, and respect for rules from childhood. For Tommaso Conte of Polisportiva One Line, the festival has become a key event and an asset for the city of Naples.
