Campi Flegrei earthquake: Inspections at Naples schools in red zone

Naples – Municipal technicians are conducting inspections at all schools in the Campi Flegrei red zone and at some school buildings in Naples' First Municipality following the magnitude 4.4 earthquake recorded at 5:50 this morning.

In compliance with the provisions of the Emergency Coordination Center convened at the Prefecture in Naples, the closure order remains in effect today for all schools in the red zone, including private and state-funded schools, as well as those under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan City and the municipal facilities already identified.

Meanwhile, inspections continue on public buildings and infrastructure in the Phlegraean Fields area. In the hours following the quake, firefighters and specialized technicians conducted stability checks on buildings and cornices, with interventions concentrated primarily between Bacoli and Pozzuoli. Precautionary evacuations were also ordered in some buildings and schools were closed in the most exposed municipalities. In Naples, Mayor Gaetano Manfredi reported that no significant damage had been reported in the city.
