A 22-year-old worker dies after being hit by a bobcat in Marcianise.

The worker who died in a serious accident in Marcianise, in the Caserta area, was just 22 years old. The tragedy occurred at a road construction site where fiber optic cable installation was underway.

According to an initial reconstruction, still being examined by investigators, the young man was struck by a bobcat maneuvering within the work area. The impact left him with no chance of survival.

Investigations entrusted to the police and the local health authority

Officers from the Police Station and staff from the Prevention Department of the Caserta Local Health Authority intervened at the scene of the accident.

The investigations will precisely clarify the dynamics of the accident and verify the safety conditions of the construction site. The organization of the activities, the procedures adopted, and the methods used to maneuver the vehicles will also be examined.

The investigators' goal is to reconstruct every phase of the accident and ascertain any responsibilities.

The CGIL's complaint

The Caserta CGIL union intervened on the young worker's death, expressing grief and concern for what it calls yet another update on the province's workplace death toll.

The union has called for a full investigation into the incident and for an investigation of all aspects of work organization, from construction site conditions to safety procedures, from worker training to contract and subcontract management.

According to the CGIL, each element must be examined in depth by the competent bodies, without attributing the incident to a simple accident.
