Campi Flegrei: 4.434 people evacuated; 178 have returned to their homes.

4.434 people in the Pozzuoli area have been subject to evacuation orders following the July 31 earthquake in Campi Flegrei. Of these, 178, from 71 families, have already been able to return to their homes thanks to the lifting of the measures.

The situation was updated this morning during a meeting convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, at the Government Palace. Among those attending were Pozzuoli's Deputy Mayor, Maria Magliulo, firefighters, representatives of the Metropolitan City, and law enforcement.

A team of 13 firefighters remains operational in the area. Their work includes both rapid structural assessments of buildings and the recovery of household goods from homes declared uninhabitable.

To date, 830 static inspections have been carried out, resulting in the evacuation of 218 buildings, comprising a total of 1.106 residential units. A total of 338 interventions have already been carried out to allow residents to recover their belongings, with two more interventions scheduled for today.

Work continues on the places of worship declared unfit for use. Firefighters, along with the Superintendency, the Diocese, and the Carabinieri Heritage Protection Unit, are moving works of art and cultural heritage stored in the 19 affected buildings to safe locations. Inspections are also being conducted to assess the damage and determine the necessary measures to secure them.

Regarding the Aedes inspections, specialized technicians have so far certified 93 buildings as habitable and 351 as uninhabitable among those inspected. In Pozzuoli, 1.908 families are affected by the ordinances. Regarding assistance, 3.436 people have requested assistance for independent accommodation, 114 are staying in hotels, and 44 are staying at the Palatrincone, although not all have received an eviction order. Another 840 people have not requested any form of assistance. The monitoring committee at the Prefecture remains open to monitor the situation and coordinate future interventions in the earthquake-stricken area.
