Salerno: The 72-year-old man missing in Baronissi has been found alive.

Baronissi – A 72-year-old man missing since yesterday afternoon near Vallone Staccarulo in Baronissi was found this morning in good health. The man had gotten lost while hiking on a rough stretch of road and, after falling into brambles, managed to contact his brother by phone, explaining that he was unable to move, but without providing precise information on his whereabouts.

The Carabinieri immediately responded to the alarm, activating the emergency number 118 and the Fire Brigade. The search, which began yesterday afternoon, continued throughout the night. This morning, the Salerno emergency operations center involved the Campania Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service, which sent two teams of technicians and a canine unit to the scene.

After a few minutes, the dogs located the man, who was below the ravine. Rescuers reached him, stabilized him, and placed him in a stretcher. In collaboration with the Salerno Fire Department, the 72-year-old was transported to the road where he was handed over to the 118 ambulance for treatment.

The Baronissi Municipal Police and the volunteer association "Il Punto" also participated in the operation. The joint effort saved the man's life and successfully concluded a complex rescue operation in a difficult-to-reach area.
