Afragola: Alex Pollaro, a loyalist of the "Panzaruttari" clan, is cooperating with the authorities, causing the clan's leaders to tremble.

A devastating blow to the Nobile clan, known in Afragola as "'e Panzaruttari." Alex Pollaro, 28 in August, arrested in recent weeks in the massive raid that resulted in the arrest of bosses, underlings, and alleged members of the criminal group, has reportedly decided to cooperate with justice.

The news, which has been circulating in judicial and investigative circles in the last few hours, is confirmed by the filing of the young man's first statement before the magistrates. The document was produced by Public Prosecutor Ilaria Sasso Del Verme during the hearing before the Court of Review.

A decision destined to have significant effects on the balance of power within the criminal organization which, according to investigators, had consolidated its power in the northern area of ​​Naples in recent years, taking over the criminal legacy of the former Moccia clan empire.

A man close to the top of the gang

Investigators believe Pollaro wasn't a marginal figure. On the contrary, he held sensitive positions within the organization, including the delivery of the so-called "mesate," financial contributions intended for the families of detained members.

His name appears several times in the investigations and wiretaps resulting in the precautionary order involving 26 people, all considered seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of mafia association, drug trafficking, extortion, and illegal possession of weapons.

Precisely because of his position within the organization, investigators believe the new collaborator can provide detailed insight into the clan's internal dynamics, the relationships between members, and the strategies adopted to control the territory.

Possible revelations about the bloody season

Pollaro's statements could extend well beyond the incidents contested in the precautionary order.

Among the events he may be called to testify about is the shooting that occurred on the night of October 20, 2025, on Via Sportiglione, in Afragola , which resulted in the wounding of Federico Moccia, Antonio Patriciello, and Nicola Bassolino. Antonio Nobile, known as "Topolone," was also injured in the ambush, but he did not go to the hospital for treatment.

According to the investigation, the escalation of violence was preceded by tensions that arose during a clarifying meeting that degenerated into a heated argument and then escalated into a long series of "stese" and armed actions.

Investigators are also paying particular attention to the murders of Antonio Vitale, murdered in Cardito on June 10, 2025, and Pasquale Buono, killed in Afragola the following day. According to some investigative hypotheses, these crimes may have arisen within the criminal dynamics linked to the Nobile gang.

The charges brought against Pollaro

In the precautionary order, Pollaro is charged with several violent episodes aggravated by mafia methods.

One of the charges concerns the assault on Gaetano Esposito. According to the prosecution's reconstruction, the young man, along with a minor, allegedly struck the victim and slammed her head against a car, causing head trauma with a hematoma and various injuries.

Investigators dispute the aggravating circumstance of mafia methods, believing that the action was carried out by exploiting the intimidating power derived from membership in the criminal gang operating in Afragola.

The punitive beating of the affiliate

A second episode dates back to February 12, 2024 and concerns the beating of Bruno Bottone.

According to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, Antonio Nobile, known as “Topolone,” and Pasquale Nobile allegedly ordered the punitive expedition, entrusting its physical execution to Alex Pollaro.

The victim was allegedly punished for failing to properly conceal drugs and a precision scale found during a search of Antonio Nobile's home. The attack allegedly caused Bottone facial injuries, consisting of visible swelling on the right side of his face.

In this case, too, the aggravating circumstance of mafia involvement is contested, believing that the beating was aimed at strengthening the clan's control and increasing its criminal prestige in the area.
