In an exclusive interview with "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis firmly reiterated the competitiveness and solidity of the Neapolitan team. "Napoli remains at the top," he stated, emphasizing that the club is healthy and that the squad is worthy of the Scudetto. "If we hadn't suffered so many injuries, we could have fought for the title last season too," the Napoli patron added.

Currently in the United States to watch the World Cup, De Laurentiis commented on his experience at the American stadiums: “I attended Switzerland vs. Bosnia at SoFi Stadium to honor my wife Jacqueline's nation, and found impeccable organization both inside and outside the stadium. I also saw Belgium vs. Iran to salute our players Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku. Despite the high prices, the 70.000-seat stadiums are packed even on weekdays, a sign that soccer can really grow in the United States.”

Regarding Napoli's future, De Laurentiis emphasized the qualities required of a new coach: "I'm looking for someone with great personality, humility, and enthusiasm. Finally, De Laurentiis addressed the issue of Italian football and the national team's absence from the World Cup: "There's been talk for years of reducing Serie A to 18 teams, but I propose cutting it to 16 to drastically reduce the number of matches, from 380 to 240. This would give us two more months to better prepare the national team and return to international competitiveness. I'm confident that President Malagò will be able to lead the necessary reforms for the good of Italian football."
