This morning, a meeting was held at the Government Palace between the Prefecture, the Municipality of Pozzuoli, union representatives, and the companies involved to discuss the difficulties that arose following the change in management of the waste collection service.

Pozzuoli – A roundtable discussion opened this morning at the Government Palace in Naples, convened by Prefect Michele di Bari, to discuss the concerns raised by the USB union regarding the change in management of the waste collection service that took place on June 1st in the Municipality of Pozzuoli . The meeting was attended by the mayor of Pozzuoli , municipal officials, the heads of the new and previous companies managing the service, a delegation from the State Police, and union representatives.
The primary objective was to foster institutional dialogue to ensure the continuity of essential public services while protecting the rights of the workers involved. During the meeting, the Prefecture addressed the union's concerns about the safety and working conditions of staff during the launch of the new contract, urging all parties to maintain a responsible approach, given the sensitive nature of the Campi Flegrei area.
The municipal administration has pledged its commitment to closely monitoring the progress of the contract, particularly regarding the temporary logistical and organizational difficulties reported by the union. Prefect Di Bari thanked all participants for their collaborative approach and reiterated that the Prefecture will continue to monitor the situation, ensuring the legality and quality of the service for the benefit of the Pozzuoli community.
