Ercolano, seven homemade explosive devices discovered in a home: 53-year-old arrested by Carabinieri
Herculaneum – A routine check turned into a major arrest for the Carabinieri of the Ercolano police station, who discovered seven homemade explosive devices hidden inside a private residence. The owner, a 53-year-old man, was arrested and placed under house arrest on charges of illegal possession of explosives.
The artifacts, weighing approximately 50 grams each, were stored without any precautions and, according to investigators, could have caused serious damage to people and property, gutting a room and causing serious injuries.
Investigations are continuing to clarify the destination and intended use of these devices, with particular attention to the fact that the New Year period is now over and there is no plausible justification for the possession of these explosives.
The arrest represents a serious blow to those seeking to spread danger and violence in the Ercolano area, while the local community awaits further developments in the case.
