Bagnoli, restrictions lifted: the public beach and the municipal beach club reopen.

After just over a week of closure, the public beach and the "Marina di Bagnoli" municipal beach club are reopening. The Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority has revoked the July 23 order that completely prohibited access, sun therapy, and any activity involving direct contact with the sand or soil in the area between the north pier and the "Cioffi Sergio" concession.

The Municipality of Naples announced this, specifying that the measure also affects the state-owned maritime areas located north of the Bagnoli reclamation site, including the public beach and the "Marina di Bagnoli" municipal beach resort. Both areas will be accessible again starting the morning of Saturday, August 1st.

The halt following the ARPAC analysis

The ban was adopted as a precaution following the findings of inspections conducted by ARPAC, which revealed microbiological contamination in the affected area. The measure resulted in the closure of the beach and the prohibition of any activity involving direct contact with the sand.

Monitoring obligations remain

Along with the lifting of the ban, the Port Authority introduced a series of requirements for concessionaires in the affected areas. Specifically, constant monitoring and maintenance of the sand matrix must be ensured, ensuring the maintenance of safety and public health conditions.

The reopening comes on the eve of the first weekend in August, allowing residents and tourists to return to one of the main public beaches in western Naples, following the temporary closure imposed for health reasons.
