Castel Volturno: Commander Chiariello threatened during anti-poaching checks.

Castel Volturno – Tension erupted on the Caserta coast during an operation to combat environmental crimes and fish poaching. A man living in Pozzuoli (Naples) has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of aggravated threats against the commander of the Caserta Provincial Police, Colonel Biagio Chiariello.

Control at the fishing port

The incident occurred near an area designated for docking fishing boats on the Castel Volturno coast. Provincial police officers were conducting a patrol aimed at protecting marine life and coastal safety.

The decisive check was carried out by Commander Chiariello himself and a plainclothes officer, who noticed the subject and decided to proceed with identification.

The precedents and the outburst of anger

Checks conducted through law enforcement databases revealed the man had several prior police convictions. The situation then escalated when officers extended their search to his vehicle, discovering that it lacked mandatory third-party liability insurance (RCA).

The complaint

Upon receiving the report and the formal order to seize the vehicle, the man reacted by verbally attacking Colonel Chiariello, using clearly intimidating and threatening language. Once calm was restored, the perpetrator was immediately formally charged, which will lead to criminal proceedings.
