Mondragone: Commercial area seized for waste and abandoned vehicles

Mondragone – A joint Carabinieri operation led to the seizure of a commercial area along Via Domiziana. The operation was carried out by officers from the Mondragone Territorial Unit, in collaboration with the Carabinieri Forestry Unit of Sessa Aurunca, as part of a series of inspections of the area and proper waste management practices.

During the inspection, officers discovered a series of irregularities, including a significant accumulation of scrapped vehicles, tires, and various types of waste left in the area. Specifically, they identified 28 cars in a clearly abandoned state, missing license plates and essential parts, as well as 23 tires and large piles of ferrous and plastic scrap. They also found various other hazardous waste, left without the proper management procedures.

A completely concreted area measuring approximately 30 square meters was also discovered on site, used for washing cars, as well as two dog kennels with separate entrances, for a total area of ​​approximately 8 square meters. According to technical investigations, also carried out by the Municipality of Mondragone, the land is designated for agricultural and arable land, and therefore the works were carried out without the required building permit.

Following the investigation, the entire area, along with the inspected artifacts, was seized and placed in judicial custody of the same administrator of the company responsible for the activity.

The investigation also led to the identification of a man born in 1949, a resident of Villa Literno and the director of an LLC, who was reported at large for serious allegations of uncontrolled waste disposal and unauthorized work. The suspect's position will now be assessed by the competent judicial authority, respecting the presumption of innocence.

The project demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to monitoring the area and controlling waste management, in collaboration with the Forestry departments, to ensure compliance with urban planning and environmental regulations.
