Castellammare – State Police drug checks continue in the Castellammare di Stabia area. Yesterday afternoon, officers from the local police station arrested a 36-year-old man, already known to law enforcement for specific criminal convictions, on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The operation occurred during a patrol in the Pozzano area. While driving along the Strada Panoramica, officers noticed a car parked on the side of the road with the 36-year-old inside. His behavior immediately appeared suspicious, as if he were waiting for someone.
The officers then decided to start a surveillance operation. After a few minutes, another man approached the car: the officers witnessed him exchange a package for money, prompting an immediate raid.
Upon seeing law enforcement, the buyer attempted to dispose of two packages containing cocaine, but was apprehended along with the alleged dealer. The latter was found in possession of €60, believed to be the proceeds of the drug dealing.
The investigation then continued at the 36-year-old's home, where the police found two more packages of marijuana, which were seized.
At the conclusion of the activity, the 36-year-old was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. The buyer, however, was reported and fined for possession of narcotics intended for personal use.
