Castellammare di Stabia – A severe blow to the Camorra's economic and financial interests was dealt at dawn today, July 24, 2026, in the Naples area. Officers from the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Naples, under delegation and coordination from the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), executed a precautionary custody order issued by the Naples Court's investigating judge against several suspects associated with or connected to the D'Alessandro clan, which dominates the Castellammare di Stabia area.

The crimes charged to varying degrees by the Prosecutor's Office paint a picture of pervasive economic penetration: criminal conspiracy, illegal gambling and betting, fraudulent transfer of assets, self-laundering, violation of special surveillance, and extortion, all aggravated by mafia methods and the explicit goal of facilitating the Stabia clan.

The online gaming business and screen companies

According to the reconstruction by the Guardia di Finanza investigators, the organization had established a highly sophisticated structure dedicated to the illicit collection of bets on online platforms. To evade controls and hinder the identification of the real beneficiaries of the deal, the group used corporate shields and fictitious businesses registered to third parties and front men.

The significant financial flows generated by clandestine bets were then systematically “laundered” and reintroduced into the legal economy through complex self-laundering operations.

In addition to the personal restrictive measures, the judicial authorities ordered and executed the precautionary seizure of numerous company shares, entire business complexes, and commercial establishments attributable to the suspects or used for the clan's illicit activities.

The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office specifies that the precautionary measures were ordered during the preliminary investigation phase: all individuals involved are presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
