Marano, punishment ordered by prison: jealousy over an ex-girlfriend was behind the attack.

Marano di Napoli – A punitive operation ordered directly from prison resulted in a violent stabbing that could have turned tragic. This is the theory reconstructed by investigators, who have led to the execution of a community placement order against a 16-year-old boy, considered a serious suspect in the double attempted murder of two peers.

The incident occurred on the evening of March 29th. It was just after 11:00 PM when, near the amusement park in Marano di Napoli, a place frequented by dozens of teenagers, the young man allegedly attacked two cousins, aged 16 and 17, with a knife.

One of the two was struck by six blows, the other by three. Both were hit in vital parts of their bodies, and only the timely intervention of paramedics prevented even more tragic consequences.

The motive: a phone call from prison

According to investigations by the Carabinieri of the Marano station, the serious incident was not caused by a sudden argument, but rather by a genuine punitive action.

At the center of the case is a 14-year-old girl, the ex-girlfriend of a young man in prison in Poggioreale for a robbery. On the night of the attack, the girl was with some friends and future victims when she received a phone call from her ex-partner, who allegedly contacted her from the prison using a blocked number.

During the conversation, the inmate allegedly heard a male voice say, "Who is this idiot?" Those words were enough to trigger his reaction. According to investigators, he then instructed the sixteen-year-old to "punish" the offender, turning a trivial incident into a brutal attack.

Investigations and recognition on TikTok

The investigation began immediately after the stabbing. The officers who responded to the scene collected statements from the numerous young people present and reconstructed the events step by step.

The two victims' recognition of the attacker also proved crucial. The young men were able to identify him thanks to some videos posted on TikTok, a factor that helped strengthen the investigative framework.

Based on the evidence gathered, the juvenile justice authority ordered the sixteen-year-old to be placed in a community prison on charges of attempted double homicide.

A violence that continues to worry

The episode re-sheds light on the growing youth violence in the Naples metropolitan area and on the ability of some inmates to maintain contact with the outside world, even going so far as – according to the investigative hypothesis – to give orders and influence behaviour even from within penitentiary institutions.

A disturbing intertwining of adolescent dynamics, romantic relationships, and crime that, due to a phrase uttered during a phone call, almost cost the lives of two minors.
