Naples inaugurates its first underwater museum featuring sculptures by Domenico Sepe.

Naples is preparing to host a unique artistic project: 'Demersa Parthenope,' the first nucleus of the city's underwater museum, designed by sculptor Domenico Sepe. The works, located at depths of 28 to 35 meters off Castel dell'Ovo, are not just sculptures, but living testimonies to a dialogue between art and nature. Crafted from bronze and aluminum, the ten installations represent Parthenope, a symbolic and founding figure of the city, reinterpreted in essential and contemporary forms.

The project's true innovation lies in its interaction with the marine environment: water, salt, currents, and marine life slowly alter the surfaces of the works, transforming them over time. This process makes each sculpture a constantly evolving work, where the material transforms under the action of the sea, becoming an integral part of the art itself.

"Demersa Parthenope" is therefore a permanent cultural laboratory that blends myth, artistic research, and nature, offering an immersive and multisensory experience. Thanks to the collaboration with Megaride Cantine Sommerse, the public will be able to visit the underwater museum through guided dives, ROV explorations, and virtual tours dedicated to schools and institutions. This innovative way to make a hidden heritage accessible beneath the sea's surface, where sculptures, sculpted by the hand of man and the sea itself, tell a new story of transformation and memory.
