Vomero under surveillance: fines issued to six nightlife venues

An evening of extraordinary checks in the Vomero neighborhood led to the identification of 198 people, inspections of 75 vehicles, and fines for illegal occupation of public land, noise issues, and possession of narcotics for personal use.

Yesterday evening, a territorial control operation involved the Vomero neighborhood, with particular attention to Mascagni Park and Luca Giordano and Scarlatti streets. The operation was conducted by the State Police in collaboration with the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, the canine units of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, and local police personnel, as part of an integrated territorial control effort.

Key facts of the operation: A total of 198 people were identified, 51 of whom had a criminal record. Seventy-five vehicles were inspected, one of which was seized. Nine traffic violations were reported.

During the operation, seven commercial establishments were inspected. Some owners were fined for illegal occupation of public land and failure to comply with noise regulations. Additionally, six individuals were fined for illegal possession of narcotics for personal use.

The operation, which saw close collaboration between law enforcement and local public administration staff, demonstrates a joint approach to combating urban decay and security issues, with a view to constantly monitoring the area and safeguarding liveability."
