Beach spots "reserved" with umbrellas, chairs, and tables left unattended: in Torre del Greco, the Coast Guard intervened, seizing 40 pieces of beach equipment abandoned on the public beach.

The operation was conducted by the Port Authority – Coast Guard of Torre del Greco as part of the "Sea and Lakes Safe 2026" campaign, coordinated by the Campania Maritime Directorate, with the aim of strengthening controls on state-owned maritime property and navigation safety.

The checks focused in particular on the "laghetti" area, where Coast Guard personnel, with the support of the Municipal Police, confirmed the presence of numerous objects left on the free beach to permanently occupy the space and secure a spot upon return.

The measure followed several complaints from tourists and beachgoers, who reported the improper occupation of large portions of the beach with umbrellas, deckchairs, and other equipment left unattended for days.

During the intervention, 40 umbrellas, beach chairs, and other materials were removed and seized. The affected areas were thus returned to free use by residents and visitors.

The Coast Guard reminds you that the municipal regulations for the management of public maritime property expressly prohibit leaving umbrellas, tents, deck chairs, or any other beach equipment on public beaches after sunset.

This initiative is part of a broader plan to combat illegal activities on public maritime property, carried out by the Coast Guard, together with law enforcement and local institutions, with the aim of ensuring everyone's right to use the sea and beaches correctly and safely.

For emergencies at sea, the Blue Number 1530 remains active, in addition to the operations room of the Torre del Greco Harbour Master's Office, which can be reached at 081 8812200.
