Castel Volturno - Institutions and law enforcement are taking a fresh stance against illegal occupation and construction along the Domitian coast. This morning, July 25, 2026, a precautionary seizure order was executed, sealing off an entire beach resort and its associated buildings, covering a total area of approximately 2.000 square meters, entirely located on state-owned maritime property in the municipality of Castel Volturno.

The precautionary measure was issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge (GIP) of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, granting the request made by the San Marino Public Prosecutor's Office, led by Prosecutor Pierpaolo Bruni. The operation is the result of a comprehensive analysis and investigation conducted in close collaboration across the territory by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Caserta, the Guardia di Finanza of Mondragone, and the military personnel of the Local Maritime Office of the Port Authority – Coast Guard of Castel Volturno.

The action is part of an ongoing coordination protocol promoted by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Naples together with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, aimed at systematically combating environmental and urban planning crimes related to illegal construction along the coastal strip.

As the Public Prosecutor's Office itself recalled, with due regard for due due process, the proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The suspects are presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued. The precautionary measure was applied without prior adversarial proceedings between the parties, and it will be the Judge in charge of the trial phase—a third-party and impartial figure—who will evaluate the evidentiary framework and the possible lack of liability on the part of the individuals involved.
