Giovanni Di Lorenzo has no doubts: he still envisions his future wearing the Napoli jersey. Since his training camp in Dimaro Folgarida, the Napoli captain has reaffirmed the strong bond he's built with the city and the club, hinting that he wants to end his career in the shadow of Vesuvius.

"I'd like to end my career here. Naples is my home now," the defender said, retracing the path he began years ago in Matera. "A lot of time has passed since then, but I've always believed in dreams and I've managed to make them come true."

The goal is the centenary: "Winning would be special."

The captain is looking forward to the new season with enthusiasm, as Napoli will be working on three fronts. His motivation remains high, despite an already successful career.

"The goal is to be competitive in all three competitions. Even though I'm nearing the end of my career, I'm still eager to improve. Winning something in my centenary year would be truly special."

The Allegri method: "More work with the ball."

Di Lorenzo also discussed the impact Massimiliano Allegri had in his first weeks on the job. The Livorno-born coach, having arrived on the Azzurri bench, has already revealed his own methodological approach.
"These are positive days, we're getting to know the new staff. It's an intense period, but the approach has been very positive," the captain explained.

Then the comparison with the work done under Antonio Conte's previous management: "The most obvious difference is that we use the ball much more. We try to reach certain distances by working with the ball, while dry work is used as a supplement. The intensity, however, remains very high, and the coach demands great technical precision."

Confidence in the new course of the national team

The Italian captain also commented on the news regarding the Italian national team, urging everyone to support the new federal project without hasty judgments.

"Andrea Pirlo as coach? There are competent people who have to make these choices. I'm reading criticism even before the new era begins. As an Italy fan, I say we need to have faith in people like Paolo Maldini and Leonardo, figures of great depth who have always known football."

"The blue of Italy? I hope to wear it again."

Finally, a look at his future with the national team. Di Lorenzo isn't thinking about leaving yet and is leaving every possibility open.

"I don't think there's a specific day when you decide to stop wearing the national team jersey. Maybe in four years, they'll still need me, even if I'm a few years older. I hope to continue being a part of it."
