'Violence from a Village Leader': Giulia's nightmare on vacation in Cilento

What was supposed to be a carefree summer break on the Cilento coast turned tragic. A 17-year-old Neapolitan girl—who we'll call Giulia to protect her identity—reported being raped by a 22-year-old entertainer at the resort where she was vacationing with her father.

According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction , the girl, as reported this morning by Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, had spent the evening by the pool with other young people, drinking alcoholic beverages. Left alone with the 22-year-old—who had allegedly been showing attention to her in the previous days, despite having made it clear he was engaged—the minor began to feel progressively dizzy. Asking to lie down, she was escorted to the young man's apartment, where the unprotected and non-consensual sex allegedly took place.

The return, the confidences to her boyfriend and the rescue

The next morning, the girl returned to her apartment, in shock and with fragmented memories due to her condition. After hours of silence, she confided what had happened to her boyfriend over the phone, who urged her to reveal everything to her father.

The man immediately took her to the nearest hospital, where doctors activated the Pink Code, the health protocol reserved for victims of violence. Subsequently, assisted by a psychologist and her parent, the seventeen-year-old went to the police station to file the complaint.

The Carabinieri of the local company, under the coordination of the judiciary, are gathering evidence and useful information to reconstruct the events.
