Capaccio Paestum, 84-year-old Rosa Sabato found dead: her body was found in a collection tank

Capaccio-Paestum - A dramatic outcome has come to the disappearance of Rosa Sabato, the 84-year-old woman who went missing on August 19th while working in the cornfields near Feudo-Scigliati. Her lifeless body was found on the morning of Saturday, August 22nd, inside a collection tank belonging to the Paestum Land Reclamation Consortium, located in Gaiarda-Tempa di Lepre, several kilometers from where she was first sighted.

It was an employee of the Consortium who spotted the body and immediately raised the alarm during an inspection round.

Carabinieri officers from the Agropoli branch responded to the scene and began all necessary investigations to accurately reconstruct the woman's last hours and the circumstances of her death. Currently, investigators are considering a tragic accident: the elderly woman may have suffered a sudden illness that caused her to slip into an irrigation canal, and was then carried by the current to the reservoir where she was found.
