A water mains blackout threatens water crisis for Ischia and Procida.

The power outage has blocked the systems that pump water from the mainland to the islands. The alarm was raised by EVI, the agency that manages the water service on the two islands, explaining that the underwater pipelines that ensure the water supply began closing at 10:00 AM.

The consequence could be a progressive suspension of water distribution on local networks, with possible inconvenience for residents and tourists during the height of the summer season.
