Avellino, 1,7 kg of marijuana seized: 48-year-old arrested

An operation by Carabinieri officers from the Mirabella Eclano station in the province of Avellino led to the arrest of a 48-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement, on suspicion of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

During a search of his home, approximately 1.7 kilograms of marijuana were found and seized, along with specific tools for packaging and storing the drug.

Among the materials found in a garage belonging to the property, there were thermometers and hygrometers used to monitor temperature and humidity, as well as labels to distinguish the substance by year of production and quality.

Pending the validation hearing before the investigating judge of the Benevento Court, the suspect was placed under house arrest by order of the Benevento Public Prosecutor's Office.
