Cardito, 33-year-old man flees at a traffic stop: chased and arrested

During a territorial patrol, officers from the Afragola Police Station arrested a 33-year-old man with a criminal record, responsible for several traffic violations. The incident occurred overnight in Cardito, on Via Gandhi, when the driver of a car with three passengers ignored a police order to stop and attempted to flee by accelerating.

In an attempt to evade detection, the driver performed dangerous maneuvers, endangering road safety. The pursuit continued to Caivano, on Via Minghetti, where the vehicle struck a metal fence. At that point, all occupants abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot.

During his escape, the driver threw away a screwdriver and a balaclava, which officers recovered. Officers later found a second balaclava inside the vehicle. The car and license plate were found stolen. After a struggle, officers managed to subdue the man, while the two passengers managed to escape.

The arrested man has been charged with dangerous escape, receiving stolen goods, unauthorized possession of altered keys or lock picks, and resisting arrest and assaulting a public official. The investigation continues to identify the fleeing accomplices.
