Former Whirlpool workers unite for the Campi Flegrei: solidarity donation after the earthquake

Former Whirlpool workers in East Naples are rallying to support the residents of Campi Flegrei, hit by the July 31 earthquake, with a collection and a message of solidarity.

Milan, August 6, 2026 – After the 4.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the Campi Flegrei area on July 31, former Whirlpool workers in eastern Naples, now employed at the Italian Green Factory, organized a collection to help local communities in need.

The initiative, announced by Vincenzo Accurso, represents a concrete gesture of solidarity and support for those at risk of losing not only their homes, but also their land and identity.

"Our noblest struggle has never stopped: being an active participant in supporting and raising awareness among those fighting for their rights is essential," Accurso said. "We have already demonstrated our solidarity in the past, with blood donations during the pandemic and assistance following the Ischia floods.

Today we want to send a strong message: only together can we win. Naples doesn't give up. We are the Italy that resists."
The initiative also aims to encourage others to participate, leveraging a sense of collective responsibility that transcends individual boundaries. At a time of great difficulty for the Campi Flegrei, the mobilization of this community of former workers represents an example of social commitment and concrete solidarity.
