Maurizio Casagrande lights up Amalfi with his show 'La prova del nove' (The Test of Nine).

Amalfi is preparing to host an evening of great entertainment on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 21:30 pm in Piazza Municipio, where Maurizio Casagrande, a well-known Neapolitan actor and director, will present his new show "La prova del nove."

The event is an integral part of the rich program of Amalfi Summer Fest, the summer festival promoted by the Municipal Administration, led by Mayor Daniele Milano and curated by Councilor for Events and Culture Enza Cobalto, which aims to offer high-quality entertainment to residents and tourists.

Casagrande brings to the stage a show that blends music, humor, and theater, featuring a talented cast of actors, singers, and musicians. The idea behind it is to offer a fresh and entertaining summer show, featuring great songs, comedy sketches, and lighthearted reflections, capable of entertaining and intriguing the audience.

“La prova del nove” takes its cue from the title, which in mathematics indicates a correctness check, to instead tell the chaotic world of entertainment, made up of a distrustful producer, struggling musicians and a reluctant sidekick, in an evening of pure fun.

Mayor Daniele Milano emphasized the importance of hosting an artist of such caliber, highlighting how Amalfi Summer Fest was conceived specifically to showcase live theater and offer unique entertainment. Councilor Enza Cobalto added that including theater and comedy in the summer program represents an added value for fully experiencing the beauty of the city and its piazzas.
