Naples accelerates urban regeneration: Bagnoli and East Naples are at the heart of the revitalization.

Naples is preparing for a significant transformation, thanks to an urban regeneration plan that particularly affects the Bagnoli area and the neighborhoods of Eastern Naples. Mayor Gaetano Manfredi highlighted how the intervention in Bagnoli represents a historic turning point for the city, with the aim of giving the population a redeveloped and accessible area.

The project includes the construction of an urban park, accommodations such as homes and hotels, and, most importantly, the transformation of the landfill into a bathing platform, with the intention of making the sea suitable for swimming after next summer's America's Cup races.

At the same time, major regeneration projects are underway in East Naples, including the reclamation of the San Giovanni a Teduccio beach and the construction of new housing in Taverna del Ferro and Bipiani di Ponticelli. These projects aim to improve the quality of life for residents and restore dignity to historically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

Manfredi underlined the fundamental role of collaboration with private entities, now more inclined to invest in the area, and recalled how the financial situation of the Municipality has been drastically improved after years of difficulty, thanks to an agreement with the Government and policies to improve tax collection and services.

Finally, the mayor emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of municipalities by increasing their powers, resources, and personnel, without fueling conflict with the central government, but rather aiming for more effective collaboration to meet the needs of the local communities.
