Naples Weather August 12st
The heatwave continues to grip Naples and Campania. Today, Wednesday, August 12, the Neapolitan capital remains among the Italian cities with a red flag for heatwaves, with weather conditions requiring special attention, especially for the elderly, children, and vulnerable individuals.
The capital city is expected to have clear or partly cloudy skies, with passing clouds but no precipitation. Temperatures will range between 27 and 37 degrees Celsius, while humidity will make the heat even more oppressive, especially during the central hours of the day.
Winds will initially be light from the north, then shift to the west in the afternoon with moderate intensity. The sea will generally be calm along the Neapolitan coast.
The situation will be even more difficult in the inland provinces of Campania. Between Caserta, Benevento, Avellino, and the upper Salerno area, temperatures could reach 39-40 degrees Celsius, significantly higher than the seasonal average.
During the afternoon, the formation of some heat thunderstorms along the Campanian Apennines is not ruled out, but these phenomena will remain isolated and will not affect the main cities in the region.
Making the heatwave even more severe are the nighttime temperatures. Along the coastal strip of Campania, lows often stay above 25 degrees, preventing adequate cooling during the night and increasing the feeling of physical discomfort.
According to the latest updates, the African anticyclone will continue to maintain stable conditions at least until mid-August, with temperatures likely to drop only towards the end of next week.
Health authorities urge people to limit outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day, drink plenty of water, avoid direct sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 17 p.m., and pay particular attention to the most vulnerable people, who are most exposed to the effects of extreme temperatures.
