Naples Weather August 18st
The mid-August holiday is now behind us, and the weather pattern is starting to change in Campania too. Today, Tuesday, August 18th, Naples will still experience a typically summery day, but with greater atmospheric variability.
According to the latest forecast, high temperatures in the capital city are expected to be around 31-32 degrees Celsius, with a low of around 22 degrees. In the morning, the sky will be partly cloudy, while clear skies and cloudy periods may alternate throughout the day.
Precipitation, at least during the central hours, is less likely in the city than in inland areas. Winds will tend to strengthen in the afternoon from the southwest, while the sea will generally remain calm.
The picture changes as we move inland toward Campania. Forecasts indicate a rapid increase in cloud cover during the central hours, with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, especially in the Sub-Apennines and Apennines.
The weather may be locally intense and accompanied by lightning, gusts of wind, and hail. A gradual improvement is expected during the evening, although some residual cloud cover may remain.
The weather alert is also calling for attention. The Campania Region Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow code for thunderstorm risk throughout the region, valid until 2:00 PM today.
The warning signals the possibility of sudden showers and thunderstorms, including locally severe ones. Associated phenomena such as hail, lightning, and gusts of wind are not ruled out.
The National Civil Protection Agency confirms a period of instability for Campania, with showers or thunderstorms expected, especially in inland areas and on the mountains.
Despite the change in scenery, summer isn't over. In Naples, temperatures could reach 31-32 degrees Celsius, while in other provinces, temperatures will remain high.
The main difference compared to the past few days will be the increased presence of clouds and the possibility of thunderstorms, which could cause brief and sudden drops in temperature in the areas affected by the showers.
For those along the Neapolitan and Campanian coasts, the day could still offer favorable moments for outdoor activities, but it will be advisable to pay attention to the evolution of the sky, especially during the most unstable hours.
In short: heat continues to dominate, but with a more unstable Campania. Variable conditions prevail in Naples, with temperatures around 32 degrees Celsius; inland, however, the risk of showers and thunderstorms increases, with possible intensification of the weather in the afternoon.
