Naples, a gold necklace is stolen: the victim chases him and police arrest a 21-year-old.

He stole a gold necklace after striking the victim in the face, but his escape was short-lived. A 21-year-old man was arrested by the State Police in Naples on charges of aggravated robbery.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. Officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station responded to Via Genova after a report reached the Operations Room of a recent robbery.

According to investigators' reconstruction, the man was approached by the victim while he was in Piazza Mancini. The 21-year-old, along with two other individuals, allegedly struck him in the face before snatching his gold necklace and fleeing.

The victim, however, didn't give up. After calling for help, he chased the three along with a passerby who had stopped to intervene. The two managed to catch up with and subdue the 21-year-old, while the other two accomplices managed to escape.

Upon the officers' arrival, the young man was taken into custody and arrested. The whereabouts of the other two alleged participants in the robbery remain under investigation.

The arrest was made as part of the State Police's territorial control activity. As required by law, the suspect is presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached.
