Civil Protection Minister Nello Musumeci announces an unprecedented financial and operational commitment for the Phlegraean Fields, affected by an ongoing seismic swarm. Safety measures and accommodations for evacuated families are also being implemented.

Campi Flegrei, over half a billion euros from the Government for prevention: alert and measures underway.
The government is strengthening its support for the Campi Flegrei communities with an investment of over half a billion euros for a prevention program involving both public and private sectors. This was announced by the Minister of Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci, who emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in a complex and evolving emergency.
The seismic swarm, constantly monitored by volcanologists, continues with the possibility of further events with a magnitude greater than 3, requiring caution and self-monitoring by the population. So far, eight buildings and five businesses have been declared uninhabitable, with the evacuation of approximately 290 people from 130 families. Local authorities have set up reception areas in Naples and Pozzuoli, while five people are hospitalized for trauma and fractures.
Rail traffic has resumed as normal, with the exception of the Cumana line between Bagnoli and Torregaveta, which is scheduled to reopen the following morning. Electrical services have been restored, and the Pozzuoli Port Authority has closed access to the port, diverting maritime traffic to the Port of Naples. Furthermore, the port authority has prohibited access to the maritime public areas beneath the collapsed cliffs along the coast between Portici and Bagnoli.
To ensure public safety, police have activated anti-looting operations. Meanwhile, the Government's Special Commissioner, Fulvio Soccodato, is preparing additional reception areas to accommodate any increase in evacuees.
Minister Musumeci also thanked the mayors, operators, and the Prefect of Naples for their coordination and ongoing commitment to minimizing disruption and protecting the population at this critical time.
