The drug seized
The Carabinieri launched a new offensive against drug trafficking in the Secondigliano and Scampia neighborhoods, which have been among the city's most sensitive areas for drug-related crime for years. Officers from the Napoli Stella Company conducted an extraordinary, high-impact operation, combing streets, public buildings, courtyards, and common areas to combat illicit activity.
The search focused in particular on the public housing complex known as the “Smurfs' Houses,” where the military found a large quantity of narcotics hidden in various locations considered strategic by drug dealers.
A total of 252 doses of drugs were recovered among the garbage bins and inside the compartments intended for electricity meters, divided as follows:
50 doses of crack;
110 doses of cobret;
78 doses of heroin;
14 doses of cocaine.
The narcotic was seized and will be subjected to routine tests as part of the investigation aimed at identifying those responsible for the drug stash.
During the investigation, the Carabinieri also reported a 26-year-old woman who was caught leaving her apartment despite being under house arrest. The young woman was reported to the judicial authorities for violating the provisions of the restraining order.
The operation confirms law enforcement's strategy of maintaining a constant presence in the northern suburbs of Naples, where territorial control is one of the main tools for combating drug dealing hubs. The discovery of drugs in common areas of public housing projects highlights how these spaces continue to be used as temporary storage facilities by dealers, attempting to evade surveillance and make it more difficult to determine who is responsible.
