Two Missing Scouts Found in Irpinia After a Night of Searching
An adventure that began with trepidation ended successfully in Irpinia, where two young scouts were found after getting lost while walking the William Walk.
The boys were traveling along a 320-kilometer religious-tourist itinerary spanning Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia, divided into fifteen stages, with the goal of reaching Fontigliano Abbey in the municipality of Nusco, Avellino.
The alarm was raised when the scout leader reported the boys' failure to return, activating the Alpine-Speleological Rescue team. The search operation, conducted throughout the night, also involved the use of an Italian Air Force helicopter from Pratica di Mare base, Rome.
The two scouts were found in the early hours of the morning in good condition despite having spent the night outdoors, putting an end to hours of apprehension for their families and rescuers.
