Martina Carbonaro's mother: "Threats? No, just desperation for my daughter."

Enza Cossentino, mother of Martina Carbonaro, the 14-year-old from Afragola killed by her ex-boyfriend Alessio Tucci, has chosen to speak out publicly to clarify her position and reject what she considers a distorted interpretation of the statements made during the most dramatic moments.

"They weren't threats, but the desperation of two parents."

"I want to emphatically point out that what they call threats were merely moments of emotional release from grief-stricken parents," Cossentino says.

Martina's mother denies any concrete intent to harm Tucci's family. "There were no real threats or intentions to harm anyone," she emphasizes, adding that anyone facing a tragedy like this "deserves to be understood in their desperation, not misunderstood."

The reference is to the tensions that erupted during the trial. During the first hearing, on May 19, the victim's family and the defendant's family engaged in a heated verbal confrontation, involving threatening gestures and remarks that necessitated the intervention of law enforcement. After those incidents, also for reasons of public order, it was ordered that Tucci participate in subsequent hearings via videoconference.

The preliminary investigations judge's ruling and the electronic bracelet

The tensions also had a legal impact. Following complaints filed by Alessio Tucci's family, the North Naples Prosecutor's Office requested a precautionary measure against Marcello Carbonaro and Enza Cossentino. The matter was subsequently referred to the judge, culminating in a ruling that prohibited Martina's parents from approaching the Tucci family and requiring them to be monitored with an electronic bracelet.

The decision has sparked bitterness among the victim's family and her lawyer, Sergio Pisani, who had spoken of the risk of turning the parents' grief into a crime and had emphasized the need to evaluate the context in which the contested comments were made.

"I respect the law and will wear the bracelet."

Cossentino, however, reiterates her intention to respect the judicial authorities' decision. "I come from a family that has always served the state," she says, recalling that she is the daughter of a Carabinieri station commander and that she grew up in an environment where respect for the law, justice, and institutions are fundamental values.

For this reason, he adds, he will also accept the electronic bracelet: "I will wear it with absolute serenity, because I have nothing to hide and my conduct has always been and will continue to be an example of total transparency."
This position does not, however, mean giving up the legal battle for her daughter.

"My attention, my life, and my battle will never be distracted from the one true goal: obtaining justice for my little Martina," says her mother.

And he adds: "We want all responsibilities to be ascertained, identifying anyone who played a role or was complicit in her death. I promised my little girl this, and we intend to keep it."

Words that bring the case back to its core: Martina's death, the trial against Alessio Tucci, and the search for the truth about those responsible for her killing.

The new judicial ruling, with the measure applied to the victim's parents, risks adding further pain to a family already deeply affected by their daughter's femicide. The Carbonaros' defense disputes the intimidating interpretation of the incidents, arguing that those words should be evaluated in the context of extreme suffering and not as the manifestation of a concrete aggressive intent.
