North Naples: Scooter and drugs, 26-year-old arrested during raid between Mugnano and Melito

An operation by Carabinieri officers from the Marano Company, carried out this morning between Mugnano and Melito, led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man already known to law enforcement.

The young man was stopped while riding a scooter. Following personal and house searches, officers found 57 doses of crack, 14 doses of cocaine, and one dose of hashish.

Also seized during the proceedings was a set of three cell phones and 835 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

The boy was also reported for driving without a license, a violation for which he had already reoffended in the past two years.

The operation, which began in the early hours of the morning, involved the streets of Mugnano and Melito and led to the identification of 43 people and the inspecting of 24 vehicles. Ten traffic fines were issued. Another person was reported to the Prefecture for possession of drugs intended for personal use. The 26-year-old arrested is now awaiting trial.
