Roadblock on the A12: €100 in stolen goods recovered en route to Naples

During a joint operation between the La Spezia and Brugnato traffic police, stolen goods worth an estimated €100,000 were recovered along the A12 motorway. The merchandise, consisting of jewelry, gold objects, rare coins, and a luxury watch, was transported on a bus headed to Naples.

The investigation began following the report of an elderly man who had been robbed using the "fake policeman" technique, resulting in the theft of various valuables, including stones, rings, bracelets, brooches, and necklaces.

The Genoa Flying Squad, receiving the complaint, identified the alleged perpetrator and, having tracked his movements, alerted the police along the route. The man, a 39-year-old from Campania, was found in possession of the stolen goods and charged with receiving stolen goods.

The intervention blocked an attempt to transfer the stolen items out of the region, thus returning a significant amount of goods stolen in a well-orchestrated scam.
