Alessandro Di Battista
Rome – The plane carrying Alessandro Di Battista back to Italy landed this morning at Ciampino Airport. As reported by la Repubblica, the former Five Star Movement MP traveled aboard an air ambulance from Havana, where he had been hospitalized for approximately two weeks following emergency surgery.
The aircraft arrived at the Rome runway around 7:10 a.m., approximately fifty minutes ahead of schedule, after making two technical stops in Nassau, Bahamas, and Luxembourg. To protect the former parliamentarian's medical condition, the overflight was conducted at a low altitude for the entire journey.
Immediately after landing at Ciampino, Di Battista was transferred directly to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he will continue the necessary treatments and medical checks.
