America's Cup: Luna Rossa dominates the second fleet race and takes the lead in Naples.

Luna Rossa shifted gears and won the second fleet race of the day in the waters of the Gulf of Naples. After finishing second in the first race, the senior crew of the Italian AC40 dominated the next race, collecting ten points and bringing their total score to 19.

A result that secures the provisional lead in the America's Cup preliminary races. An immediate response after the placing obtained in the first race, with the Italian boat capable of winning at the end of a hard-fought race.

Alinghi finished right behind Luna Rossa. The Swiss battled throughout the race, staying in close contact with the Italian boat for long periods and taking a second-place finish that confirms the team's competitiveness.

Third and fourth place went to the two boats of Emirates Team New Zealand, the reigning champions, while fifth place went to Luna Rossa Youth & Women.

For the Italian youth and female crew, the race was affected by a penalty. At the first tack at the windward mark, the boat failed to yield right of way to New Zealand, thus incurring a penalty that compromised the final result.

The race was virtually over for La Roche-Posay Racing Team. A bad maneuver caused the French boat to capsize, forcing them to abandon their race and not be able to resume the competition. After winning the first race of the day, American Racing Challenger, Team USA's boat, finished only seventh in the second race.

Meanwhile, Luna Rossa's day's results are particularly significant: a second-place finish and a victory that secure first place in the provisional standings. And tomorrow they'll be back on the water for another day of racing in the Gulf of Naples.
