America's Cup: Naples raises the curtain: the trophy will be presented tomorrow aboard the Vespucci.

Naples is entering the heart of the journey toward the 38th Louis Vuitton America's Cup. The large clock that will mark the countdown to the competition, scheduled for May 2027, has been turned on in Piazza Vittoria. This symbolic moment officially kicks off the city's journey toward one of the most important events in international sailing.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the president of the Campania Region Roberto Fico, the president of Sport and Health Marco Mezzaroma, the CEO Diego Nepi Molineris, the CEO of America's Cup Partnership Marzio Perrelli and the top management of Ace.

The Naples route will be enriched tomorrow with another highly symbolic event. A delegation of the teams competing in the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Preliminary Regatta will board the Amerigo Vespucci, docked at the Maritime Station at Molo Beverello.

Thanks to the collaboration with Sport e Salute, the America's Cup trophy, considered the oldest international sporting trophy still in competition, will also be returned to the sailing ship. Expected to attend the ceremony are Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, Abodi, Navy Chief of Staff Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, CEO of Difesa Servizi Luca Andreoli, Mezzaroma, Nepi Molineris, and Perrelli.

Piazza Vittoria and the Vespucci thus become two of the symbolic locations of the Naples leg, on the eve of the preliminary regattas scheduled from Thursday to Sunday. This initiative dedicated to the Cup echoes the one held last July in New York, when the America's Cup trophy first boarded the famous sailing ship during the US leg.

The countdown to 2027 has begun for Naples, while the upcoming Preliminary Regatta is already bringing crews, teams, and international attention to the city. The Gulf is preparing to become the stage for the sailing challenge, with the city focused on the May event.
