Capri, police checks accommodation facilities: manager reported, fined €2.400

Capri – The State Police continues its surveillance of hotel and non-hotel accommodations on the island of Capri. This activity is particularly important in an area characterized by a strong tourist presence and high visitor numbers, especially during peak periods.

Officers from the Capri Police Station, as part of the extraordinary operations organized by the Naples Police Headquarters, conducted an inspection at a local hospitality facility. Following the investigation, the legal representative of the company managing the business was charged.

Failure to register guests

According to investigators, the facility failed to register its guests through the Alloggiati Web portal, the system through which accommodation facilities are required to communicate the personal details of their guests to the Police Headquarters.

This requirement is more than just a bureaucratic requirement: proper guest identification is one of the tools law enforcement can use to conduct checks and ensure traceability and safety in the hospitality sector.

A complaint was filed against the company's legal representative for this violation.

Security, further irregularities contested

The inspection also found deficiencies in the building's safety devices. Specifically, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were reportedly missing.

For these irregularities, a total administrative fine of 2.400 euros was imposed.

These devices are particularly important in hospitality facilities, where the simultaneous presence of numerous tourists requires strict compliance with the safety regulations.

The other side of tourist pressure

The intervention is part of a broader monitoring effort launched by the Naples Police Headquarters to verify the legality of hotel and non-hotel accommodation facilities.
