FIOM Napoli requests an urgent meeting with Stellantis to include fuel costs in wages.

Naples – Fiom Cgil Naples has formally requested a meeting with Stellantis management to address rising fuel and energy costs, which are severely impacting the purchasing power of employees and their families.

According to the union, the economic and social situation has become unsustainable for many workers, exacerbated by the need to use private cars on a daily basis due to the deficiencies of local public transport.

The initiative's goal is to evaluate concrete income support measures, with particular attention to the introduction of fuel vouchers and fringe benefits, which can provide an immediate response to affected families. Fiom Napoli officials, Mario Di Costanzo and Mauro Cristiani, emphasized the urgency of a direct discussion with the company to outline immediate measures to alleviate the economic impact on employees and their homes.

The request highlights how fuel costs impact differently depending on mobility conditions: those who cannot rely on efficient public transportation are forced to rely on private vehicles, placing consequent pressure on family budgets. In the request, FIOM representatives urge a concrete response from Stellantis, calling for a timely analysis of income support and corporate welfare measures to be shared with workers.

While awaiting a meeting, Fiom Napoli reiterates the urgency of addressing this issue to safeguard employees' purchasing power, especially at a time when basic costs continue to rise and impact disposable wages.
