Benevento, four arrests for cocaine trafficking: over a kilo of the drug seized

A Carabinieri operation in Benevento led to the arrest of four individuals found in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, equal to approximately 1,079 kilograms.

The operation took place along the Tangenziale Ovest, where the military intercepted three cars travelling in a convoy and a short distance from each other, suspicious behaviour attributable to a possible "relay" activity for the transport of drugs.

During the checks, a block of cocaine wrapped in clear cellophane with the word "HULK" written on it was found hidden behind the dashboard of a Fiat Panda. Furthermore, a passenger attempted to quickly dispose of a package containing approximately 11 grams of cocaine, but the act did not go unnoticed by the Carabinieri.

Those arrested include two men from Benevento and a couple from the Scampia neighborhood of Naples. At the behest of the Benevento Prosecutor's Office, two were taken to prison, while the other two were placed under house arrest. The operation confirms law enforcement's focus on combating drug trafficking in the Sannio area.
