Illegal cosmetics and six illegal workers: massive seizure in the Caserta area

Caserta – A seemingly legitimate business, but one that concealed a double crime within the walls of its warehouse. Officers from the Caserta Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) have dealt a serious blow to illegal trading in the Agro Aversano area, seizing a company specializing in the storage of electronics, perfumes, and cosmetics.

The operation was launched following a thorough analysis of the Guardia di Finanza's databases, cross-referenced with findings made by patrols during daily roadside checks. This investigative hypothesis was quickly confirmed as soon as the Financial Police Unit entered the facility.

Goods hidden between pallets

Once inside the company, the officers encountered a series of secondary compartments, used to conceal hundreds of pallets and boxes still in their original packaging. Inspection of the containers uncovered over 13.000 personal care items, from creams and soaps to nail polish and perfumes of uncertain origin.

All the products were found to be completely lacking the traceability information and safety guarantees required by current regulations, posing a potential risk to consumer health. The entire shipment of illegal goods was immediately seized.

 Heavy fines and a ban on business

The sanctions framework was further aggravated by inspections of the facility's staff. During the inspection, the financial police identified six workers employed entirely "illegally," without any contractual protection. This serious irregularity triggered an immediate report to the competent authorities for suspension of business activity and the imposition of a massive fine, which can reach a maximum of €11.700 for each undocumented worker found.
