Marcianise: Hazardous waste accumulated in body shop, owner reported

Environmental checks were conducted in Marcianise, where Carabinieri officers from the Caserta Company, with the support of the Forestry Department, conducted an investigation into a car body shop. The incidents date back to yesterday afternoon, September 21st, when a man born in 1975, the owner of the business, was reported to the judiciary.

Inspections revealed the presence of hazardous and non-hazardous waste on the facility's forecourt, including glass and plastic car parts and used batteries. Additional hazardous waste was found inside the processing building, including packaging contaminated with paint and solvents.

Following the investigation, the affected areas were seized pending further investigations as required by current legislation. The owner was charged at liberty with alleged crimes related to the unauthorized management of waste and the uncontrolled storage of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste. The presumption of innocence remains valid until a final verdict is reached.

The seizure measures, adopted in accordance with the law, will serve to continue investigations to establish any administrative or criminal liability.
