Marigliano: The gang of robbers terrorizing the area has been captured: three arrests, including a woman.

An escalation of violence and abuse was only halted at dawn today. Carabinieri officers from the Marigliano station placed three people in handcuffs—a 30-year-old woman and two men, aged 33 and 41—in execution of a pre-trial detention order issued by the Nola Court at the request of the local prosecutor's office. They are charged, on various counts, with one robbery and two attempted robberies.

The criminal sequence reconstructed by investigators began on August 1st with hideous overtones. The thirty-year-old woman showed up at the door of a 72-year-old local man and, at knifepoint, forced him to hand over the cash he had in his home: a paltry sum, just 10 euros, but enough to unleash terror.

The second blitz and the bravado

The woman returned to the bag just 48 hours later. On August 3rd, she returned to the residence's door, this time escorted by her 33-year-old accomplice, to demand more money. A second extortion attempt failed only due to the victim's firm reaction and fortuitous circumstances that caused the two to flee.

Robbery at the home goods store

The last raid dates back to August 13th and involved the entire group. The three entered a home goods store in Marigliano, targeting the appliance shelves. After grabbing the merchandise, they attempted to escape by distracting the security guard. Discovered during their retreat, they abandoned the stolen goods, which were later recovered in full by the Carabinieri.

The CCTV footage and testimonies gathered on the scene were crucial in closing the loop. Once the investigation was complete, the two men were sent to the Naples-Poggioreale prison, while the woman was transferred to the women's section of Naples-Secondigliano.

As required by constitutional guarantees, the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase: all suspects are presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
