Massimo Troisi Award: three days of comedy, music, and new talent in San Giorgio.

Three evenings dedicated to comedy, music, and the discovery of new talent. All is ready at Villa Bruno, in San Giorgio a Cremano, for the 26th edition of the "Massimo Troisi Award – Observatory on Comedy," scheduled for September 24th to 26th.

The event, sponsored by the City of San Giorgio a Cremano, the actor and director's hometown, once again focuses on young people and new expressions of comic art, combining competitions with a series of events featuring leading figures from the worlds of music, film, theater, and entertainment.

At the presentation of the 2026 edition, at the Campania Region headquarters, Culture Councilor Onofrio Cutaia spoke, emphasizing the relevance of Troisi's artistic legacy.

Massimo Troisi's message is important: his approach, his vision of being in the world of cinema and theater, is more relevant than ever today. It's a lesson, and many young people will follow it.

Cutaia then highlighted the event's role in promoting younger generations. "The Award's greatest and most significant value lies in its ability to identify and promote promising new talent in comedy, comedy, and acting, offering space, visibility, and concrete opportunities to younger generations."

Alongside the councilor, the presentation was attended by the mayor of San Giorgio a Cremano, Michele Carbone, the artist Peppe Iodice, and Francesco Mastandrea, who will host the evenings.

"Comedy is at the heart of the Award, the soul of the event," the mayor said, "and therefore the desire to discover new talent. This year's competitions will once again bring emerging artists to the stage with quality, creativity, and a strong desire to challenge themselves."

Clementino, Fabio Rovazzi, Leo Gassmann, Ciro Giustiniani, Aurora Leone, and Federica Raimo are expected on the stage at Villa Bruno. Peppe Iodice will also be president of the jury for the comedians' section.

The gala evening will also be an opportunity to award the Massimo Troisi Special Prize to Aurora Leone and to pay tribute to the memory of Fiorenza Marchegiani.

The heart of the festival, however, remains the competitions, divided into the following sections: "Best Comedy Actor," "Best Short Film," "Best Comedy Writing – Unpublished Work," and "Best Comedy Writing – Published Work." Through this process, the Award continues to showcase new languages, ideas, and forms of comedy.

Over the years, the event has expanded its program, involving artists and protagonists from various fields of entertainment and culture, without losing its connection to Massimo Troisi's legacy and the city of his birth.
