The Luzzatti district
Naples – A serious episode of violence erupting within organized crime circles has reached a turning point in the space of just a few months. This morning, State Police officers, executing a pre-trial detention order issued by the Juvenile Court's investigating judge at the request of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, arrested a young man on suspicion of attempted murder aggravated by mafia methods, as well as the illegal possession and carrying of weapons and ammunition.
The operation conducted by the Naples Flying Squad stems from the bloody ambush that took place on March 6th in the streets of the Rione Luzzatti neighborhood, in the Poggioreale district. Investigators were able to piece together the events by meticulously analyzing footage from public and private video surveillance systems in the area, capturing key moments of the attack.
Subsequent investigations, coupled with intensive wiretapping, have revealed a scenario consistent with organized crime. The attack was not an isolated incident, but the culmination of a deep, ongoing personal conflict, fueled by retaliatory tactics and financial disputes. The evidence against the young man remains subject to the safeguards of the preliminary investigation phase, pending further developments in the trial.
