Naples, traffic plan kicks in: Viale Dohrn and Via Caracciolo closed

Naples – The traffic control system along the Naples waterfront has been in place since this morning in preparation for the America's Cup preliminary regattas, scheduled for September 24-27. Viale Antonio Dohrn and Via Francesco Caracciolo, between Viale Dohrn and Piazza Vittoria, are closed to traffic until Sunday, September 27.

To facilitate traffic flow, the entire Riviera di Chiaia bus lane has been open to traffic since this morning, making it one-way between Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Vittoria, heading towards the latter. These changes will remain in effect until Sunday, September 27th.

To manage the impact on urban mobility, the Local Police has set up a 24-hour service in the affected area.

The next phase of the pre-regatta measures, from September 28th to October 5th, includes the reactivation of one-way traffic on Viale Anton Dohrn – between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Caracciolo, in the direction of the latter – and on Via Francesco Caracciolo, between Viale Dohrn and Piazza Vittoria, also in the direction of Piazza Vittoria.

Meanwhile, the first section of the Riviera di Chiaia bus lane, between the intersection with Via San Pasquale and Piazza Vittoria, had already been opened to traffic last Wednesday.
