Campi Flegrei, solidarity and healthcare: over €10.000 raised

A fundraising evening promoted by the Order of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists of Naples raised over €10.000 in donations for the people of Campi Flegrei and the healthcare professionals who work there.

Solidarity at the heart of the evening

"Our colleagues and citizens in this area must not be left alone," declared President Bruno Zuccarelli. "We wanted this initiative to be, first and foremost, a gesture of solidarity. The Campi Flegrei are going through a difficult period, and there's a risk that attention will wane on the issues that impact daily life," he added.

"Those who open a practice or continue to practice in this area every day are also making a responsible choice towards the community," emphasized Pietro Rutigliani, president of the Naples Dental Association Commission. "This evening demonstrates that no one should feel alone. But the solidarity of civil society must be accompanied by constant attention from institutions to the needs of citizens and professionals."

The event also fostered a rapprochement between younger colleagues and the Order, underscoring the importance of the connection between the profession and the local community. "The turnout we saw tells us that there's a community ready to mobilize. Our commitment doesn't end with this evening: we will continue to maintain a high level of awareness of the Campi Flegrei and the needs of the professionals who provide assistance to citizens every day."

The meeting was also attended by Regional Council President Roberto Fico, Regional Council President Massimiliano Manfredi, Vice President of the Fifth Health Commission Carlo Ceparano, Regional Councilor Giovanni Porcelli, and Regional Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents Giovanni Galano.
